Hi Neil,

I bought a property with 1950s settings, no central heating, toilet and bathroom outside and single sheet window for let. I am eligible to apply for Stamp duty exemption?

Regards
Titus

Hi Titus, and thanks for reaching out with your query about SDLT exemptions and reliefs. It sounds like you have already purchased the property, and so I assume the conveyancing process is finished? Have you submitted the SDLT return, and/or what did the conveyancer advise that you used to buy the property? There certainly are instances in which properties deemed to be not habitable may in return remove residential rates. This is a strict test, and one that is a matter of fact. Do let us know where you are with it.

(This is not legal advice and should not be relied on as such. QLAW)
