I am asking on behalf of a friend who is a site manager at a primary school. He has asked for 1.5 hours’ unpaid leave to play in a gig which he has to reach by 7pm. This was authorised by the headteacher and then rescindedn3 months later. He has worked at his school for over 10 years and has no disciplinary actions against him. The headteacher has said she will sack him if he takes the time off. Can she do this?
