What about old people such as myself, who don’t have a smart phone and may well be dubious anyway?
Hi Brian – and thanks so much for your query/question (a good one at that!)
So, as with any solicitors practice, we need to verify client’s identification – something that it is of particular importance with conveyancing given the scope for money laundering. Biometric ID is by far the most advanced and therefore safe form of ID, and of course it works well for clients that are not local to a particular practice. QLAW started out life as a ‘normal’ solicitors practice, and most of our clients lived or worked close by to our offices in Surrey. However, as our business has grown and expanded, as well as taking care of our ‘traditional’ client base, we now act for people up and down the country, and abroad. Hence, biometric ID works well. So, to answer your question, for those potential clients who would like to use QLAW, but don’t have access to a smart phone – its no problem at all. All you have to do is obtain certified copies of your ID, and post them to us! Easy!
Thanks again for reaching out with a great question Brian!
