I am a “no chain” cash buyer wanting to purchase a “vacant possession” house, yet ,y solicitor has told me conveyancing will take 12 to 16 weeks. I do not need a mortgage and would not require any surveys, and there is no chain at all, neither below nor above, so why would the process take so long? Apparently the vendor’s solicitor says they can complete in 2 weeks and the delay would be caused by my solicitor. Please can you explain why? Thank you.
