Hi Qlaw, we live in a row of 16 cottages. One of the residents is selling and he has been told by his solicitor that the pre-contract enquiries have revealed that our council are considering adopting our back lane access. We can we get hold of this information please.
Hi Gill
It sounds like this has come up when the buyers did their ‘local search‘, and then its become a ‘pre contract enquiry’. Two things to do – firstly get on to the local authority and ask them to explain what’s what. And secondly, check the title of your own property (depending on when you bought it you may have a copy of the H M Land Registry plan which will show what is yours and what is not? Hope that helps, and thank you for reaching out to QLAW!
