Hi

My dad passed away in February 2024 and he didn’t own any property. He had around £12.000 in bank which £5,600 was used for funeral and the building society released the rest of funds to me as I hold a savings account with them. With furniture and jewellery his total after this would be £15,000. I do not know if I’m allowed to spend the money in bank or what forms to fill in for HMRC?
